1/30/2024 0 Comments Who flash ecu for motorcyclesIt did run a little rough for the first few miles, presumably as it was learning and sorting itself back out. I would equate the feeling to having a quicker turn throttle installed. Is it actually making more power? Hard to say. 1/2 turn of throttle is giving you more than previously. You get more bang for your buck with regards to throttle rotation. No longer does it feel as if you tossed an anchor off the back when you turn cruise off. The cruise control is much smoother on and off. Quick-shifter is no doubt quicker with noticeably shorter kill times up and down. After resetting all adaptations, I followed the instructions to start it, let it idle to full temp (this is also pointed out in the GS911 software after you reset adaptations to do the same thing), ran through the gears while on the stand to reset the quick-shifter and headed for a ride. Seriously, it started right away so that was positive. What it did NOT fix: Right veer is still there. Got a nice big sticker and card with my ECU, but no t-shirt. Looking at it (in the cradle) it's virtually impossible to see that it has been altered, at least with my eyes. Received my ECU back yesterday afternoon. Worth noting is that Bren's team has been super quick to respond to any questions I've had along the way and thus far been a great experience. I’ll post up those results as soon as we can get it back on the dyno. I’ll reset adaptations with the 911 when the ECU returns, run it in and return to the same dyno to get a comparison. Happy dyno? Probably some but the purpose is to note any gains more so than an outright number. The netted 187HP at the rear tire on that particular dyno. This one was a DynoJet dyno following the Bren instructions as closely as they could for the pulls to be accurate and repeatable. I strapped the bike to the dyno bone stock. In an attempt to mirror their success with their project I ordered a Sprint P08 and IAT relocation kit from Bren as well as the stage 1 flash. I’m not out for trophies or any grudge racing but some extra HP is always nice. I would prefer to keep the stock exhaust to keep it relatively quiet and stock appearing. Seeing their results on an otherwise stock 2016 inspired me to follow in that projects footsteps. I chose Bren Tuning for my own experiment. The bike is a bone stock 2016 Premium with 2066 miles on it at the time of running, on 93 pump gas. I felt like I've read a fair number of pre-flash posts suggesting that they will go re-dyno it afterwards and see if it actually gained threads, without any follow up. The purpose of my post is simply to share my results. After reading what feels like thousands of posts, threads and various web sites etc, I've pulled the trigger on having my 16' ECU flashed.
